WHAT TO WEAR: Day To Night

Here up north, if there’s not a blizzard, then it’s most likely raining. Us New Englanders are used to these treacherous weather conditions and have learned to adjust and accommodate. However, wearing the same staple parka or rain jacket can sometimes lead to outfit repeating or something along the lines. This Fashionista, on the other hand, shows us that we can still hold our weather-savvy gear close yet can switch things up by having a killer outfit underneath, even one ready for a night out.

Most evidently, the focus of this Fashionista’s outfit on this rainy day is her yellow raincoat. This classic piece in this particular color (Madeline, anyone?) has definitely been making its way back into this season’s trends. Even better, the color gives a pop that these down pouring days lack. What makes her look extra special is her awesome outfit beneath her coat. Of course, you can never go wrong with all-black, especially when there’s a mix of formality. Specifically, her leather dress is something that can either be dressed up or down. This Fashionista decided to dress down her look with black tights as well as a pair of classic black rain boots.

For accessories, this Fashionista finished off her look with a beautiful gold statement necklace. All together, my favorite part of her look is the way that she dressed down certain items. As they always say: there is always sunshine after rain. With that in mind, this Fashionista’s outfit can easily be transitioned from a day to a (rain-free) night look with just a few simple swaps.

One Simple Change: Once the storm has passed, opt out that rain jacket for a black leather jacket as well as some black booties for a night out with the girls.
