We’re in the home stretch. Spring break is over and only two months stand between us and summer vacation. This means we’re getting exceedingly busy. Our multitasking skills will be put to the ultimate test as we juggle intern applications, schoolwork and preparation for finals. When those rare moments of free time present themselves, it’s important that a ton of time isn’t wasted on changing outfits.
I found this Fashionista while on vacation in San Francisco. As a sophomore, she is well aware of how important efficiency is for being a student. She put this great outfit together in the morning, knowing that it would effortlessly last throughout the day and into the evening.
The beautiful California weather meant that a floral dress became a must. The light chiffon material is easy for running around all day but also transitions into the perfect dress for dancing all night. Bright colors work great whether it’s 12 p.m. or 12 a.m.
Accessorizing with a clutch is the perfect handbag for day to night because it holds a lot without excess bulk. The pop of color makes a statement sure to impress no matter what time it is. Add additional color and sparkle with a great necklace, like a long chain faux stone piece.
With so much color throughout the outfit, keep things neutral with a basic jacket and booties. Denim jackets are really trendy but are still casual enough to work in the daytime or nighttime. As Fashionistas, trendiness is essential; however, the best day to night outfits are also comfortable. Pick pieces you can rock for hours. Maybe you’ll even begin to forget how much work you have!
One Simple Change: If you know you’ll be running all across campus for classes and meetings during the day, wear a cute pair of sneakers, like these Keds x kate spade tennis shoes, and then change into your heels before going out at night.
