I don’t know about the rest of you, but spring fever seems to be in full effect on Illinois’ campus. I couldn’t be more excited for the transition of not only the weather, but more importantly, my wardrobe. I’m ready for this seasons best trends to come out—hints of pink, pastels, floral prints and whatever your must-have piece may be. With second semester in full swing, it is only expected for a college student to have a busy schedule. The problem with this is being able to have a versatile outfit that will get you through the day, but also be appropriate for when you need to escape for a night out. This Fashionista killed it with her springy outfit; simple enough for the day time, but fun enough for a night out.
Her light floral tank is a perfect choice for this situation, as it is relaxed enough for the middle of the day, but easily dressed up. She did this by adding a light pink statement necklace, dark-washed pair of jeans and tan wedges—a great color palette for the spring. While her strappy shoes are adorable and a great season staple, it might be better to wear booties if you’re looking at a long day.
If you are one of the many college students with a crazy schedule and needs a night out but barely has time to get ready, simply sporting a look that goes from day to night is the perfect solution. Similarly, mimicking this Fashionista’s look can get you that outfit you’re looking for—go for a top with a print like hers or a pop of color. Try something fun like orange, a major color trend this spring. This scalloped crop top from Topshop is perfect. I think her dark-wash jeans are the way to go to keep your look nighttime appropriate—same goes for her pastel necklace.
So, don’t let all your work get in the way of having fun, just make sure you use your time efficiently by looking your best at the start of the day with a versatile outfit.
One Simple Change: If the weather is warm enough, pair your wedges with dressy high-waisted shorts and you’ll still have a great look for a girls’ night out.
