WHAT TO WEAR: Date Night Done Right

Preparing for a date can be stressful, especially if it is early in the relationship. The question of what to wear seems impossible to answer as you stand in front of the copious amounts of clothes residing in your closet. Undoubtedly, you want to wear something that you not only look good in but also feel good in; the hard part is trying to figure out exactly what that is.

Unfortunately, the answer is equally as problematic as the question. There is no right cookie-cutter answer, considering everyone has different styles and personalities. However, I can provide you with tips on how to pick out the right outfit!

First, if you are unsure of what the date is going to consist of, or are just unsure of how nice you should dress, always dress up rather than down. Being super overdressed or underdressed is going to be uncomfortable regardless, but I personally would rather be overdressed and look my best rather than underdressed and insecure.

You should also dress comfortably. We all have that one outfit that is super cute and looks great on, but only as long as you don’t move. If your pants are a little too loose or your top is a little too revealing, I would advise you to not wear it. The last thing you want to have happen on your date is constantly worry if your top is sitting in the right place, if your pants are falling down, etc. For example, off-the-shoulder tops look great and are very trendy but are a pain to wear.

Lastly, you should showcase your personality. Going on dates is a way to get to know the other person, so why not do that through your outfit? Wearing something that is very representative of you is a great way to showcase your personality without even having to say anything.
