WHAT TO WEAR: Date Night

July 22nd, 2016 at 2:00am

You’ve just got to love summer. With everyone being out of school for a couple of months, there’s time to relax, recharge or maybe even spend some time with that oh-so special someone. Nothing is more nerve racking than that first date. It sets the tone for your entire relationship and you know what they say about first impressions.

There’s no point in getting all dolled up if you’re just going to end up feeling uncomfortable all evening. The ache in your feet from heels or the tightness of your dress will all just distract you from the person in front of you. That being said, this Fashionista’s look proves that comfort is key when dressing for a first date.

The ensemble as a whole is laid back but still fun and flirty. I loved the monochrome feel of the look with her having paired a striped crop top with a pair of black pants. The pants are a loose fit and high-waisted, making them comfortable enough for whatever she and her special friend will be up to.

Accessories were kept to a minimum (you don’t want to be too flashy), but the pop of color that the red beaded necklace provides ties the whole look together. Along with a pair of black sandals that she brought back from her study abroad trip in Italy!

One Simple Change: Because the summer weather is starting to get even hotter here in the south, I would swap the pants for a pair of black high-waisted shorts. Same amount of comfort, except you’ll just be a lot cooler.
