WHAT TO WEAR: Date Night

December 14th, 2015 at 2:00am

As the weather in Boston starts to get chilly, getting dressed starts to get harder! But, I have to admit, there is nothing more charming than a guy that can put a cool outfit together. I can’t lie to guys and say that he was the first thing that grabbed my attention, because, come on: look at that dog! However, when I looked up (after having 10 mini heart attacks), I was as impressed by the composition of his outfit as I was with the dog.

Dressing up for a casual date night can be a tough thing. You will always be left wondering: “what will the person think?”; “am I to dressy?”; “should I change?” So, to ease your mind, I am here to give you a couple of tips. First of all, RE-LAX! If someone decided to go out on a date with you, it’s probably because you have something more than your clothing to show. Second of all, if this person is really worth it, they will like you for who you are.

Now that you are all settled in with yourself, it’s time to move on to your closet. This Fashionisto did an amazing job putting a look together that could be used to wear to a cool restaurant or to a bar. Your best bet is to keep it casual, and feeling comfortable is putting on your favorite pair of jeans. Denim goes with everything and you can dress it up, or down. This Fashionisto decided to juxtapose a dark T-shirt with a patterned cardigan. These pieces are fall essentials! You probably have some variation of them in your closet that you can put together. Then, to top it off, he threw on white Converse—another fall favorite. The overall look is super easy to build and you can play around with it. Not in the mood to wear a cardigan? Throw on a chunky sweater and you’ll be good to go. Feel like going fancier? Drop the sneakers and cardigan and put on a blazer and dressier shoes. Date night is supposed to be fun, so try to enjoy everything about it: from putting your look together, to deciding what you are going to do afterwards.

REMINDER: Dog is optional, but encouraged.

One Simple Change: Having a date during the day? Instead of going for black and gray pieces, go for a lighter tone. For example, a beige sweater. It will still match well with the jeans and Converse.
