WHAT TO WEAR: Date Night

June 18th, 2015 at 2:00am

I’m back at SUNY New Paltz for orientation training and I can’t believe the amount of Fashionistas and Fashionistos that are walking around campus! Don’t worry, they’ll all be featured soon! In the few days that I’ve been here, there’s been a tornado watch, frequent five minute rain showers and humid nights. Even in this unpredictable weather, however, they are proving their dedication to fashion by shining through.

This Fashionista was wearing a black T-shirt dress, a slouchy heather gray cardigan and a pair of golden sandals while she carried a brown purse. The golden chain strap on her Michael Kors purse complemented her other gold accessories: a bunch of Alex and Ani bracelets and a watch. Her outfit is appropriate for a date because it’s something that she feels comfortable in, but also looks good in. The V-neck on her dress was classy and not too deep. Her simple dress had a slight high-low hemline and made her look more mature. If the date’s a bomb, she can always go somewhere else and not feel overdressed; if it’s a success, she won’t be writhing in pain the rest of the day because she decided to wear something tight, a pair of high heels or no jacket. When I was taking the picture of her, she had no issue walking around outside, and most importantly, her stiletto heel did not get stuck in a grate hole.

Overall, this Fashionista’s ensemble says I woke up like this,” but I still put in some effort because even though it’s not a black tie event, she shows that she cares. The clothes that she’s wearing are dark, but the accessories lighten the outfit up.  Her outfit was effortless and comfortable while being fun. Look no more for an outfit that is comfortable yet great for dates!

One Simple Change: This Fashionista’s ensemble would also be perfect for back to school if the sandals were replaced with another pair of shoes such as black flats or a pair of brown riding boots and sheer tights.
