WHAT TO WEAR: Cooling Down and Dressing Up

January 13th, 2017 at 2:00am

Now that the cold winter weather is in full swing, you may be wanting to cuddle up in bed and binge watch your favorite Netflix series. It is a struggle to try to look cute and be warm when all you want to do is throw on a pair of sweatpants and call it a day. The snow should be no excuse for frumpy outfits! Whether you are just going to class or having a study date at your school’s local coffee shop, dressing up will have you feeling fabulous even when Mother Nature throws a snowball your way. Luckily, I found a Fashionista that knows how to dress up even when the weather is cooling down.

Staying warm was this Fashionista’s main goal. Pairing a plain black leather jacket with an over-sized gray and cream scarf is a sleek way to stay bundled. A big trend this season is thigh-high and over-the-knee boots. This Fashionista showed everyone a different way to wear this trend. While most people only feel comfortable in skinny jeans with the boots overtop, this Fashionista opted to wear her over-the-knee gray boots under a midi dress. Wearing dresses in the winter is a recipe for cold legs. OTK boots allows any Fashionista to rock a dress even in freezing temperatures. Chokers are another trend that can get overplayed, but this Fashionista spiced up the basic choker by adding a charm.

Dressing warm does not have to be boring! I know it is tempting to have those lazy days (especially after all of those holiday cookies) but looking nice does not have to be a chore. Adding a pop of color (even if it is a white scarf with an all black outfit) can brighten up your look instantly. On those chilly winter days when you still have to go to class or meet up with your friends after for lunch, just throw on a jacket, printed scarf, a pair of boots, and an accessory or two, and kiss those winter woes goodbye!
