Between Kanye West and Lady Gaga it seems like every artist is coming to D.C. I find myself marking the calendar each day when I hear about a new concert, but the most exciting part of a concert for me is deciding what to wear. When picking out an outfit for a concert I always make my decision based off the artist. When I went to see Beyoncé I dressed up in all white with bright heels, but on my way to the concert I switched into flats. The look was perfect for the summertime, but the shoes were not the most comfortable choice for a night full of dancing. Also, concertgoers should consult the venue when deciding what to wear. A floral maxi dress may not be the best choice for an indoor standing concert. Sometimes, the best thing to do is to find a balance between dressy and casual. You should try to find something that will be cute, but also comfortable enough for a night of singing.
This Fashionista’s outfit is perfect for a concert, year round. Her outfit is cute and relaxed. She paired an “I Love New York” T-shirt with a light wash high-waisted pair of denim shorts. I hate putting my shorts away for colder weather so I love that this Fashionista made her shorts more winter appropriate by adding black patterned tights. Patterned tights have become a staple for me and this floral pair from Forever 21 is on my wish list. To complete the look she added black boots and a hat. To keep warm she topped her look with an army green jacket, which she could easily wrap around her waist. I love this Fashionista’s look because it could also be worn in the summertime. If she removed the beanie, jacket, and tights she could easily sport this look could easily transition. Her outfit would be comfortable throughout any concert.
One Simple Change: Her shorts and boots are perfect for a concert with friends, but this black pencil skirt and a pair of minimalist could easily make this look more romantic for a date.
