WHAT TO WEAR: Concert

What to Wear

Going to a concert is a great excuse to showcase a new outfit or bring out a classic old school look, but sometimes I find myself torn between wanting to wear a new fun piece of clothing and being nervous that it may be the first and last time I get to wear it. Concerts can be tricky depending on what genre it is that you are attending. A more low key event is great for dressing up, but if it is a more high energy night out then it can be good to keep that in mind when dressing.

This Fashionista gives us a great look for any type of concert, mixing edge with practicality. When going to a concert, especially one filled with college kids, it’s naïve to think that you wont have at least one drink spilled on you during the night. But not to fret! This Fashionista makes the right choice in choosing footwear and outerwear that can take the beating. Wearing boots is perfect for a concert, not only to protect you from what may be on the ground but also from being stepped on, and with this outfit they are perfect. Additionally, her oversized worn denim jacket is perfection for the potential spills and creates a classic rock and roll feel. In choosing a velvet high-waisted skirt, our Fashionista contrasts the ruggedness of her jacket and boots, giving her a feminine touch. In dressing for a concert it’s perfect to not overdo hair or accessories because you’ll appreciate keeping it simple once you arrive. Mixing feminine accents with darker bold basics is a great way to go when dressing for a concert. And while it’s hard to keep that new dress in the closet, you’ll be happy that you did when you get home.

One Simple Change: If you swapped out the denim jacket for a more fitted feminine jacket and added a clutch or other accessory this look would be perfect for a girl’s night out.
