Though school has begun and the days of festival going are at an end, the light coursework we find in our classes might still give us enough time to procrastinate homework in lieu of much more adventurous endeavors such as concerts. As much as I love music going, sometimes it’s difficult to decide what to wear to such an event especially when the weather is less than ideal as it has been as of late in sunny SoCal. Concerts are tricky depending on if they are in an outdoor or indoor venue and what type of genre.
This week’s Fashionista gives us a cue as to how to incorporate interesting graphics and great accessories into a great look for a casual concert.
Let’s start off with her most attention drawing piece, which is her cut up graphic tee. The low-cut armholes were this summer’s hottest trend allowing for peekaboo viewing of a cute bandeau or bralet. On a more practical level, it also allows us stay cool when the day takes a turn for the hotter degrees. Her black shorts are a classic alternative to the typical jean shorts you see all summer long and paired with my second favorite trend, the white Converse All-Stars, her look is unstoppable. When it comes to accessories she absolutely nails it with her round sunglasses that are reminiscent of the ’60s wild child and perfect to wear on your way to any concert.
The key thing she does is pairing strong pieces like her footwear, glasses and shirt with one classic piece for balance. The look is just enough rock n roll to have people take a double look and wonder if you know Alexander Wang.
One Simple Change: Switch out the Converse All-Stars for a pair of sexy stilettos for a perfect look to go out with your friends on a Friday night.
