WHAT TO WEAR: Concert

June 30th, 2015 at 2:00am

Summer is in full swing, and that means that once again your favorite bands have hit the road and are soon coming to a venue near you. You’ve already splurged on the best seats last week’s paycheck could afford. You still want to make sure your outfit is a showstopper in it’s own right, and all without breaking the bank, of course. Depending on the certain genre of music your favorite band falls under, one tends to dress a certain way for the concert. Cowboy boots for Blake Shelton, a fun mini skirt for Taylor Swift, a bedazzled bralette for Avicii and so on. Although it is by no means a written rule to dress a certain way depending on who is performing that night, I have noticed that one particular ensemble is a type of ‘exception’ and one that is a go-to outfit for many when getting ready for the show. I am talking about the high-waisted shorts with a flannel tied around the waist look. Even though it is a very cute and flattering look, I find it to be overplayed and unoriginal. Running into this Fashionista was like a breath of fresh air.

The first thing I noticed was how comfortable and confident she looked. The long white maxi dress was a perfect piece to transition in from the warm sun during the day to the cool breeze at night. The blue floral embroidery at the top of the dress was the perfect pop of color and it pulled your eyes upwards to the floral hair accessory she was wearing. I love that this Fashionista decided to rock the headpiece. It is dainty but still adds the perfect amount of glam to her outfit. To finish her look, this Fashionista threw on a pair of white eyelet Converse sneakers. The white dress with the white Converse gives the outfit the perfect laid-back summer vibe. This Fashionista is definitely a showstopper!

One Simple Change: Going out to the bars after the concert? You could lose the headpiece and opt for a loose side braid to keep your hair out of your face and still look put together and stylish. You can also slip off the Converse and into a pair of gladiator sandals to keep the look low-key and still oh so rad.
