What to Wear

This past weekend alone the University of Pittsburgh has seen artists like Mac Miller, Icona Pop, Timeflies and even a Battle of the Bands – all shows put on for our student body. Aside from these most recent killer performances, concerts are constantly on the calendar at venues all around the city. When I saw this Fashionista’s concert ready look I knew it simply had to be shared as inspiration for upcoming events this spring season.

Concert attire is all about the effortlessly cool, old school vibe thrown in with bits and pieces of your modern day look. There are very few rules when dressing for a concert, but the most important thing is that you radiate confidence in a way that envies the rock star on stage.

Channel your inner coolness by recreating a look similar to this one. For starters, the overall has snuck its way back into the hearts and wardrobes of Fashionistas from coast to coast. Our featured Fashionista rocked a corduroy pair from Free People, which she layered overtop an embroidered shirt. She rolled the bottoms of the overalls allowing her chic leather boots to be given the display they deserve.

While at a concert you won’t want to be worried about your personal belongings. Follow this example and sling a cross-body bag with fringe around your neck to add a little flare. With enviable additions such as a Cartier ring and a turquoise rock (my personal favorite accessory), this Fashionista was ready to rock and roll.

One Simple Change: For the upcoming festival season, put a spin on the traditional overall. Try a romper instead, or pair your denim “shortall” with a lighter layer such as a bralette.
