WHAT TO WEAR: Cold Weather

February 18th, 2015 at 2:00am

Geneseo has been a winter wonderland these past weeks. When it snows almost everyday you start to feel like you are living in your own personal snow globe. While walking to class in the frigid weather, layers are key when dressing for these conditions so you can still be warm. This Fashionista shows that while wearing tons of bundles you can still look fashionable.

When first stopping her, my favorite part of her whole outfit is her winter coat. This coat is not only super warm, but has a perfect smokey blue color. This gives an almost denim look to it. This coat is totally unique and completely makes this outfit. This Fashionista then sports a maroon sweater, layered under an oversized flannel. Oversized flannels are ideal for the colder seasons because they are super comfortable and warm, but also timeless and extremely versatile. Flannels are perfect for layering in your outfits. This Fashionista then incorporates a colorful scarf to add a wonderful pop to her outfit.

Another favorite element of this outfit is the perfect accessory of her navy beanie. As far as winter hats go not all of them look great, but a beanie is excellent for colder weather.   Beanies keep your ears cozy warm, adding a fashionable statement to your winter outfits. For winter shoes, L.L.Bean boots are a must. Providing amazing traction for the snow while not having a clunky snow boot on your feet. Not to mention, they look great with basically any outfit. These boots keep your feet warm and dry. She paired these boots with maroon socks that matches her sweater.

Finally, when layering your clothing, make sure that you match pieces of the same color. Then focus on an accent color to make your outfit pop. From dressing head to toe, this Fashionista is completely warm. By bundling and wearing tons of layers in the winter you don’t have to sacrifice your own personal style. This Fashionista is prepared for the bitter weather but still gives an edgy and grunge vibe.

One Simple Change: Still want to wear this outfit but it is a little warmer outside? Interchange the coat for a stylish navy puffer vest.
