Sometimes, pairing the right jacket with an outfit can be just as important as pairing the right shoes. During the winter, my biggest struggle is making the decision between being stylish or staying warm. On those days where you want to rock your favorite jeans and a new top, you don’t want it hiding under a bulky parka jacket. In recent months, the trench coat has made its way from the runway into the everyday Fashionista/o’s wardrobe. It’s a perfect way to not only stay warm, but it can also serve as a way to spruce up an outfit.
Pictured above, this Fashionista is rocking her majorelle blue trench coat. It’s a perfect way to dress up any plain outfit and even puts a pep in her step as she walks to and from class. It was her confident smile that I took notice of before I feel in love with her coat. The gold detailing of the jacket goes perfectly with her gold watch and earrings, tying her entire look together.
If the preppy look isn’t your style, trench coats come in every shade and material you can think of. Right now my favorite way to wear the trend is by pairing a gray wool coat with light washed ripped denim and tennis shoes.
One Simple Change: It isn’t any fun when you can only wear an article of clothing for one season. Unlike most heavy coats, this one can be transformed into the perfect spring staple. Switching out jeans for a light floral dress that contains a similar blue to the jacket will be perfect way to blossom into spring.
