WHAT TO WEAR: Cold Weather

Although we are all craving warm summer months, let’s face it, we are in the midst of one of the coldest winters yet. Just because snow days call for staying in bed all day drinking hot chocolate and binge watching Netflix (though that does sound appealing), doesn’t mean you can’t still look fashionable! For the next several months, layering up will be key. Take inspiration from the runway, specifically from monochromatic collections such as Christophe Lemaire’s fall 2014 ready-to-wear line. Sporting all black layers during these winter months will give you a chic, sophisticated look that will keep all heads turning as you walk by!

This Fashionista sports the perfect look for a snow day that is cozy while still cute! She wears black leggings and a black knit top and layers with a black peacoat and black Hunter Boots. The chic monochromatic look is broken up by a taupe knit headwrap, plush convertible gloves and cream boot socks.

Going to school in the northeast, the cold, gloomy weather can sometimes leave us feeling uninspired. Don’t let blizzard warnings keep you from strutting across your campus in style! It’s easy to throw on leggings and an old oversized sweater while you try to stay warm inside all day. And being able to maintain your style on even the gloomiest of days speaks volumes of a true Fashionista!

One Simple Change: Looking to create a similar look for an indoor occasion? First remove your outerwear accessories and peacoat. Replace your snow boots with black riding boots and add white boot cuffs to break up the monochromatic look while adding a playful feminine touch.
