WHAT TO WEAR: Cold Weather

When I was applying for colleges, I knew I wanted to go to a great university with awesome football and somewhere I wouldn’t have to deal with the cold. Alabama is considered the South, so I thought for sure I wouldn’t have to think about heavy winter coats, ice or snow. Well, I was wrong! My first winter at the University of Alabama was very interesting with the #SNOWPOCALYPSE, as we called it, keeping us out of class for a week. One thing I learned is that cold weather doesn’t mean you can’t rock a style.

This Fashionista has the cold weather look down just perfectly! The colors of her outfit immediately popped because she wasn’t influenced by drab and dark winter colors. The blue of her cowl neck sweater sets the tone for her entire outfit. Accenting the dark leggings with beige colored boots kept the overall outfit bright and fashionable. One fashion trend on this campus is the super cute head warmer. They come in many different styles, looks and textures. You can find them in knit, just like this Fashionista is sporting, or you can go a bit bolder and rock a fur one. This Fashionista chose a darker colored head warmer to coordinate with her pants. The dark head warmer accentuates the color of her hair and pulled together an overall great style.

One Simple Change: For areas where the temperatures fluctuate and get very cold, you may want to consider multiple layers. A stylish coat on top of a sweater may be just what is needed to keep you warm and fashionable.
