WHAT TO WEAR: Cold Weather

What to Wear

Despite sunnier days, it seems the cold weather in Toronto is inescapable. Don’t be fooled by the sunshine and clear skies; for some reason, it has been freezing in the city and there’s nothing we can do but stay dressed in layers.

This week’s Fashionisto is wearing a black duffle coat, scarf, earmuffs, hat, dark jeans and beige chukkas. With all this cold weather, it’s important to bundle up and keep from getting sick. You need a coat to match your busy lifestyle — the more fashionable, the better. If you’re having trouble choosing a style, check out my previous post for men’s outerwear. What I love about this Fashionisto’s dark coat is that it can be paired with any colors; for instance, pairing the darker wardrobe with lighter boots. This Fashionisto kept it casual with his daytime footwear. Since there’s going to be a lot of salt on the streets, you might not want to wear your best pair of suede shoes going out; stick to a boot that can be easily cleaned.

One Simple Change: This Fashionisto has kept it simple with a darker jean. If you’d like to switch this look from day to night for a casual date night, try switching to a pair of chinos and a darker shoe or one with detail.
