Guys…this polar vortex is real. A little too real for my liking. The brutally cold temperatures are making the daily walk to class a battle against frost bite, and it’s seriously the worst. With all these negative wind chills, getting dressed in the morning has become harder than ever. Everyone around seems to be donning their warmest outfits, complete with head to toe black parka and winter accessories. Finally, I spotted this Fashionista, easily standing out amongst a sea of The North Face.
Her red and blue coat instantly caught my eye. This style maven showed our arctic tundra of a campus who’s boss, and brought a little color onto the scene. Her jacket, made of a thick knit, still did the job in keeping her warm, but managed to look chic at the same time. Bringing color into a normally monotone wardrobe is a fabulous way to become a stand out Fashionista. To take this look to the next level, opt for this bold and blue menswear inspired look from Tibi. I seriously love the color; it gives “winter blues” a whole new meaning!
If color isn’t really your thing (I’m a huge fan of the all-black look myself), tone down this week’s look with this alice + olivia coat. With it’s black and white herringbone pattern, it allows you to stay within winter’s generally dark color scheme, all while making your class attire more stylish. Take an additional page out of this Fashionista’s book, and pair it with a simple scarf, a printed tote, dark jeggings and some warm boots. Together, this chic student both defeated the frost bite and didn’t let the severe cold freeze her wardrobe.
One Simple Change: Once the temperatures warm up, this Fashionista’s look can easily change over to a rainy day! Switch out her colored jacket for this classic yellow rain coat, and her UGGs for some Hunter Boots, and you’ll keep the bright wardrobe going through any weather.
