Okay, so what is up with this arctic blast and when will the misery end?! All of these wind chill advisories and negative temperatures here in the Midwest have us all hiding inside parkas and under layers of our warmest clothes. I won’t even try to deny my recent emotional attachment to my fleece-lined leggings and The North Face jacket! I’m sure most of us have experienced that mid-winter rut of dressing more for the weather and less for ourselves, but our wardrobes don’t have to be as gloomy as the gray winter skies.
This Fashionista is rocking some color with her multicolored Mossimo wool wrap jacket. A wool jacket is perfect for the frigid temps and will keep you cozy while not being super bulky. A pop of color, like the orange in this jacket, is a great way to have fun with a winter outfit! We’ve also seen bright shades of purple and blue in outerwear this season. A chunky knit scarf is a cozy necessity to top off any cold weather outfit and can be found in any color to match your style! This Fashionista also shares my obsession with fleece-lined leggings, dressing them up a little with brown leather riding boots and accessorizing with an adorable brown bag. The black of her leggings help break up the shades of brown in her outfit and balance out the entire look!
One Simple Change: Keep your feet as warm and cozy as the rest of your body by swapping your riding boots for a pair of L.L.Bean boots! Perfect for running errands, these boots are very on-trend for the season and will be sure to keep your feet warm and dry. Made of rubber, they come in a variety of colors and even have shearling-lined styles to provide extra warmth. You can easily run around town in these and not be afraid of the slush and salt ruining your shoes!
