It is now mid-January and all we can dream about is warm weather and shorts. The air is frigid, snow is covering the ground and classes are back in session. If that doesn’t call for the desire to wear baggy sweatpants and fuzzy socks out in public, I don’t know what does. We cannot let ourselves fall into the trap of sweatpants! The only way to be motivated during these chilly days is to, of course stay warm, but most importantly look fabulous.
This Fashionista is keeping herself sane by sporting the perfect go-to cold weather look. She is wearing a warm fur lined winter jacket from Topshop over a white knit sweater from Urban Outfitters. The combination of a fur coat and a cozy sweater will be sure to keep the frostbite away. Her jacket is the perfect mix of warm yet trendy. The fur lining is super chic and super warm at the same time. It is very difficult to look fashionable while wearing a heavy winter jacket but this Fashionista did it just right. She pairs this with black high-waisted jeans from Urban Outfitters and black Steve Madden studded combat boots. Last but not least, tied around her waist is a red and black flannel which adds a stylish flare to an outfit strictly put together for warmth.
The flannel around her waist was the perfect touch to add a pop of color to her outfit. Although there may not be a specific purpose for this flannel, it definitely shows personality. Personality is essential in one’s sense of style and you can really get a sense of who this Fashionista is just by the way she chose to put this look together. The way she paired her flannel with studded combat boots gives off that ’90s grunge look, which I think ties in perfectly with the rest of her pieces.
The trap of sweatpants and a heavy sweatshirt is calling out your name when the air drops to negative degrees, but keep your head high and stay away from the sweats!
One Simple Change: Although this outfit is perfect for the winter, it can easily be worn in the spring with a few changes. Instead of wearing her warm winter jacket and sweater, she can throw on a cute tank top and a jean jacket. Pairing these pieces with her jeans and combat boots would be a great outfit for a warm day.
