WHAT TO WEAR: Cold Weather

What to Wear

The spring semester is quickly approaching, but temperatures say that winter is still in full swing. Although I am looking forward to warm spring days, I am going to cherish the last few months of hot caramel lattes and sweater weather.

This Fashionista caught my eye right away. Her bright red peacoat drew attention to her and separated her from the rest of the crowd. Colored jackets are an easy way to make a statement and add a pop of color to any outfit. Try a bold blue or sassy purple for a look that packs an extra punch.

I was also drawn to her boots, which are totally fab and perfect for adventuring out in the cold weather. Try an over-the-knee style, which is flattering on all body types. They slim the legs and make them look miles long. The rich brown color of the boots offer a contrast to this Fashionista’s dark leggings and draws attention to the lace-up style.

Layers, layers, layers! I love layering for winter and in New England it is essential. The temperatures rise and fall from day to day and chilly mornings can quickly turn to warm afternoons. This Fashionista has perfected layering. She started with a simple slip dress and peacoat before piling on cozy knit scarves. Throw on a pair of black leggings and leather gloves to complete this look and keep you extra toasty on cold days.

One Simple Change: Peel off some layers as the weather warms up. Ditch the leggings. Swap out the boots for some strappy sandals for a look that is perfect for brunch with the girls.
