WHAT TO WEAR: Cold Weather

What to Wear

Winter weather has arrived, and it it looks like it is here to stay. After an unexpected snowfall this past week, I was completely unprepared and had to dig my snow boots out of storage. Winter is a tough time when it comes to dressing because all you want to do is be warm. I often find myself repeating the same outfit over and over, just with different sweaters and/or jeans. It is easy to get into a winter weather style slump, but there is a way to combat the epidemic. It is important to add special pieces to give your winter outfit life and personality, and when I saw the Fashionista running around town I knew she’d done just that!

With winter weather it is important to layer your wardrobe. This helps keep you warm while simultaneously looking stylish. This Fashionista did just that with her sweater, scarf and parka combo. Keeping it simple with a navy blue sweater and a great pair of denim, this Fashionista’s classic look is perfect for a day running around town.

Next, she added a winter white scarf for a pop of color and sophistication. This was a great touch because it breaks up the navy of the sweater and the jeans. To keep her warm when trotting about town, she threw on a cozy black parka. Finally, she brings the whole look together with a classic pair of L.L.Bean boots. These boots are great because not only are they cute and comfortable, but totally functional in this treacherous Michigan weather.

When dressing throughout the winter months, it’s important to keep things interesting by adding in special pieces like a new jacket or a great pair of boots. This will help keep your wardrobe fresh and inspiring throughout those dreary winter months.

One Simple Change: This look is great for those colder winter days, but by swapping the Bean Boots for some riding boots, this look is perfect for a day spent shopping with friends!
