WHAT TO WEAR: Class

September 29th, 2015 at 2:10am

Typically when it comes to your everyday campus wear, you’ll find most college students going throughout their day in the usual T-shirt and sweats. The way a student presents themselves in class can make all the difference in the opportunities they are introduced to. For me, it’s always been an easy task to wake up for class and throw on a comfy outfit, while still looking very much presentable in a way where I am representing my individual style. That is, after an outfit change or two. Just because you feel most comfortable in a pair of leggings, it doesn’t stop you from dressing it up a little by pairing slip-on shoes with a denim jacket tied around the waist. Throw on a pair of boyfriend jeans, your favorite boyfriend V-neck or slouch T-shirt, a statement necklace and be on your way. This Fashionista rocks the slouch T-shirt with a pair of distressed boyfriend jeans. She accessorizes by adding a gold chain toggle necklace and a classic pair of Erika Ray-Bans.

Keeping up with the latest campus trends can be a little challenging when you’re stressed about what quiz you have to face the week ahead. Keeping a few core pieces in your closet makes for so many interchangeable outfits to get you through that stressful week of exams. Wearing boyfriend button-downs, T-shirt dresses, a vintage crewneck to represent your school spirit or even a utility jacket and your favorite pair of high-waisted leggings can put sweats and a T-shirt to shame. If you’re having some trouble mixing and matching and finding pieces that work together, start out by choosing one key piece and working around it. Take a black V-neck and decide whether you feel more comfortable wearing a pair of distressed skinny jeans or joggers. You can dress up and accesorize your campus attire by adding earrings or your everyday stacking rings. Fashion is about feeling comfortable in your own skin, whether or not that means wearing leggings everyday and pulling out those jeans for weekend wear. So wear what makes you feel good, go outside the box and set a trend!

One Simple Change: Have a date night after a long day of classes? Swap out your slouchy T-shirt for a black chiffon tank top, and the combat boots for a pair of lace-up flats. Finally, add a red lip and there you have it!
