WHAT TO WEAR: Class

September 28th, 2015 at 2:00am

Crisp air, changing leaves, cozy socks and everything pumpkin spice are just a few of the reasons why fall is my favorite season. Don’t get me wrong—I love the sun and everything that accompanies it. But after being in school for three weeks and constantly enduring the humidity and heat that sums up the “dog days of summer,” I can confidently say that it’s time for shorts and sandals to move over because I am ready for sweaters, boots and jackets. Until the heat dies down, dressing for class will be a difficult task. This Fashionista, who is looking ready for both class and the heat, is the perfect example of how to dress cool, calm and collected for those muggy class days on campus while still looking put together.

The outfit’s main piece is a simple black T-shirt dress. Light, breezy and flattering on any body type, this wardrobe staple is a must-have for transitioning between class and social activities. The T-shirt dress embodies the comfort of a T-shirt along with a flirtatious vibe of a sundress. My current favorites places to find these are Brandy Melville and Urban Outfitters—they have such a wide array of colors and styles that every Fashionista can wear.

In order to continue the casual look, this Fashionista opted for sneakers instead of traditional sandals or flats. Pairing a sundress with something out of the ordinary (like white Keds or combat boots) helps the look stand out in the crowd while still remaining comfortable for walking to and from the classroom. To top this outfit off, this Fashionista chose to accessorize light to be low maintenance; a lace bralette and layered necklace flaunt little details while keeping comfort in mind. There’s no doubt this outfit will keep this Fashionista comfortable yet trendy for whatever she may encounter, whether it be running errands or an afternoon at the library.

One Simple Change: It’s Friday and you just finished your last class? Throw a denim jacket around your waist to dress it up for the evening’s activities. Swap out the sneakers for booties, and you have a perfect weekend wear outfit that’s suitable for any temperature or setting!
