In elementary school, back-to-school shopping meant going to Staples to buy notebooks and binders, all with my favorite Disney characters on the cover. Now, it means maxing out my credit card when buying the fall’s hottest fashion trends. I think I can speak for all Fashionistas when I say that we would gladly sacrifice showing up to class without a pen or pencil if that meant garnering a compliment from the cute boy in College 101.
The worst thing about starting the fall semester is tackling the transition period. You either add too many layers or don’t wear enough. We question whether it’s too early to be wearing OPI’s “Lincoln Park After Dark” or too late to be wearing Essie’s “Sunday Funday.” It seems as if there is just no winning. This Fashionista put together the perfect “good-bye summer, hello fall” class outfit that is ideal no matter which way the thermometer sways.
Her white, high-low lace dress is one that could surely stand alone in the final dog days of summer. Paired with a cropped light wash denim jacket, this Fashionista is ready for those chilly early morning classes. No need to wear a heel with this look. The cropped jacket provides an elongating illusion that adds the extra inches without the need for painful stilettos.
The color combination of this look is what initially caught my eye. Yes, blue and white is a classic, but the splash of orange adds flare to this rather muted and neutral ensemble. Her beaded statement earrings perfectly match her wrap bracelet while her white braided cuff complements the feminine frock. If it were up to me, this Fashionista would get an A+ when it comes to assembling a chic and effortless back-to-class getup.
One Simple Change: Have an interview? Swap the denim jacket for a fitted blazer and you will impress any potential employer with your savvy style skills!
