WHAT TO WEAR: Class

June 10th, 2015 at 2:00am

Hey, Fashionistas/os! It’s been rainy and gray here in Connecticut, but have no fear— fashion ceases to no dreary weather! One of my all-time favorite activities to do is to walk around the Yale shops in New Haven, and this week, in between one of my routinely Urban Outfitters and American Apparel trips, on a cold and rainy day, I was lucky enough to run into this Yale Fashionista on her way to class.

Walking swiftly in an attempt to make it to class on time, this Fashionista caught my eye through her overall look. Her pants and boots are fabulous—black leather that looks sleek and chic walking through the Yale campus in the city of New Haven. She wears a black graphic T-shirt, and she wears a khaki green jacket with black leather panels to tie the look together. The jacket adds subtle color to the look, while staying within the basic theme that features solid military colors and still coordinates with her leather theme.

This look is ideal for wearing around campus because of its casual yet edgy and modish feel that correlates with the urban college lifestyle, but is also entirely appropriate for the classroom because of its simplicity and practicality. Not only that, but it is a comfortable outfit to sit through class in. The faux leather pants may look rather snug, but because they are faux leather, they feel just like jeans. The ankle booties are also stylish yet sensible because of the low, chunky heel and the stretch fabric by the ankle. Nothing says comfort like a loose, graphic T-shirt, and the jacket is what finally pulls the look together. The lightweight jacket is perfect for a chilly, rainy summer day.

One Simple Change: Have a night class, or classes all day, and want to go out and have a good time with your friends right after? Whether it’s a night out in New Haven to grab dinner and bust out your karaoke skills or a party on campus, try switching the casual booties for a pair of black, strappy heels. Throw your hair in a high bun, and try bold red or pink lips and add a pair of cute statement earrings to complete the look.
