WHAT TO WEAR: Class

One of my favorite things about summer is the warm weather and the sun. You might be ready for crop tops and flip flops, but that does not always happen. Unfortunately, the weather has been putting my shorts and T-shirt loving style on hold this week. The rain has forced me to layer up and also cover up my freshly painted toes.

The rain can be your worst nightmare on those summer mornings when you do not want to get up for that early class or your summer job. It is hard enough to want to get up and get dressed when it is sunny and warm. However, there are still ways to take these rainy days to their maximum potential. My advice is to keep it light and simple.

If your city is anything like mine, it gets humid when it rains, and layers and humidity do not mix. So by keeping it light, you can ensure that you are comfortable throughout the day. You also do not want to get that brand new chiffon tank top wet. Keeping it simple will allow you to walk more comfortably in the downpour to the summer class you have been regretting.

This Fashionista did a great job of keeping it cute and comfy for a week of constant rain. Her white rain jacket is transitional, and she can wear it with many colors and prints. It is also very thin and light, allowing her to be comfortable without having to carry around an umbrella all day. Both her boots and purse are cute and simple accent pieces to her rain outfit. These pieces also allow her to transition easily from day to night.

This outfit is both functional and stylish, especially in this type of weather. So the next time you are out and you know it is going to rain, think about keeping it simple and light. No one likes walking around in soaked jeans all day.

One Simple Change: Going out after class today? Simply throw on a pair of jeans with a cute top, a purse and boots, and you are ready to go!
