WHAT TO WEAR: Class

Lately I’ve seen most students show up to class in the “I’ve just rolled out of bed” look, especially during those morning classes. College students, you know what I’m talking about. It’s the students with the messy bun, oversized sweatshirt, leggings and Birkenstocks. There is nothing wrong with that look. Heck, I can admit to sporting that look. However, there are other alternatives when it comes to dressing cute and comfortable to class. Show off your creative side and let your personality shine through your wardrobe.

Through a sea of leggings and oversized sweatshirts, this Fashionista stood out to me because she was truly owning her style in a way that was perfect for class. She is wearing a black cotton dress with tights. She pairs her dress with black Converse and a denim jacket. For accessories she added a pop of color with a red knit scarf and a unique bag. Lastly she’s wearing delicate rings to add detail to her look and a black backpack to carry her books.

Take note how she keeps the base of her outfit neutral then adds pops of color through her accessories. In this case, she chose a warm palette for her accent colors. If you decide to choose more than one stand-out accessory, be sure they are both in the same color palette. For example, warm colors include: red, yellow and orange. Cool colors include: blue, purple and green.

One Simple Change: Swap out the Converse for a pair of heels and you have stylish look for a night out with friends.
