WHAT TO WEAR: Class

It’s hitting that point in the semester. You know the one I’m talking about. Midterms have hit, and everything is about to pick up speed. Projects and tests are going to consume your life, and getting out of bed to go to class will require some serious motivation. Picking out an amazing outfit on top of that seems like quite the tall order. However, I’ve found that taking a little extra time to put some effort into my appearance makes me feel much more equipped to conquer my day. Sitting through four classes is a piece of cake when I put on clothes that I love. This Fashionista proved that it’s possible to make it through long days as long as you’ve got a rad outfit to keep you company.

This outfit works perfectly for class on so many levels. This Fashionista incorporated comfortable clothes and layering, but she did so in a way that is nowhere near sloppy. She uses easy knits that won’t be distracting while sitting for long periods of time. She employs a monochromatic color palette that gives her cozy pieces a sleek, elevated look. A warm gray cardigan layered over a simple T-shirt and black pants is comfy without trying too hard. I’m lusting after her Zara cardigan and the way it wraps around her, keeping out the air conditioning and anxiety.

The exciting pops in this outfit come in the form of accessories. Accessories uplift every outfit and can make the simplest ensembles look totally killer. This Fashionista nailed it. I first noticed her jewelry, with brilliant pops of turquoise immediately catching my eye. She mixes different metals in for added shine, but she lets the bright shade do the talking. Her Steve Madden necklace is a statement piece in the best way because of its minimalist shape and bold hue. Her Globus boots finish off the look effortlessly, adding a punch of motorcycle-inspired toughness.

One Simple Change: Dress this look up for a night out with the girls by throwing on a cool black leather motorcycle jacket instead of a cozy cardigan. Add a swipe of red lipstick, and you’re good to go!
