WHAT TO WEAR: Class

When you’re a college student, it can sometimes be difficult to resist the urge to roll out of bed and walk to class in your pajamas—messy hair, unbrushed teeth and all. With it being the beginning of March, midterms in full swing, students might find their level of motivation to be quickly dropping when it comes to their appearance. If you’re like me, you find it easiest to go about the day while feeling comfortable, but also looking put together and feeling confident in your outfit. This Fashionista and I seem to both agree on that philosophy, so I absolutely had to feature her this week.

Wearing tight jeans can sometimes feel extra restricting when sitting through a long lecture. However, jeans themselves are super comfortable, so wearing a looser-fitting pair can be a great alternative to your go-to skinnies. This Fashionista’s light wash jeans have a mom jean vibe to them, and look like the perfect pair of jeans for a long day of class. Her striped top wonderfully complements the light wash of the denim, and her red Converse are a cool way to keep the red theme going. The dark lipstick this Fashionista is rocking is absolutely gorgeous, and also happens to be a clever way to keep the look from feeling too summery.

I’ve been seeing a lot of metal jewelry with gemstones lately, so this Fashionista is definitely on trend with her rings. The mixed metal, with the silver and gold, is a cool way to add an edgier touch as well.

One Simple Change: Living in a musical city like Austin, students are constantly going to concerts after long school days. Adding a long black cardigan to this look would be a great way to darken it up for a night time show.
