Today marks the first day of summer school for students at Valdosta State University. This is a day many of us have been dreading; for that reason, many students pulled out sweats and T-shirts. Not this Fashionista; she faced the day with her best fit forward. while most of us found it hard to drag ourselves out of bed this morning, she managed to not only pull of a look that matched, but one that was actually chic.
This Fashionista was spotted outside the student union on her way to class. When I spotted her, she made me regret my terrible decision to get dressed 10 minutes before class. She is wearing a chevron print top paired with a pair of distressed high-waisted shorts and leather sandals. Her outfit is great because it is fun and flirty, not to mention it has summer written all over it.This look is perfect for almost all occasions. Whether you are headed to class, shopping or lunch this look would be great.
The thing I love most about this student’s outfit is her top. The contrasting colors and zig-zag pattern in her shirt make her stand out in the crowds of students. She is also wearing one one the biggest trends of summer…high-waisted cut-off shorts. High-waisted shorts can be an easy DIY for some, but for some of the artfully challenged individuals like myself, prefer to just buy a pair from a store.. To recreate this look, buy or make a pair of high-waisted shorts and pair them with a top a bright printed top, like this one from ModCloth.
One Simple Change: For a look that can be worn during all seasons, trade in the high-waisted shorts for a pair of distressed jeans.
