WHAT TO WEAR: Class

February 6th, 2015 at 2:00am

It’s 9 am and you’re curled up in bed, nice and warm. The very last thing you want to do is get up and go to class, especially in the freezing winter weather. While looking cute early in the morning in bitter temperatures may seem like a daunting task, it’s actually not too hard. As I was bearing the cold myself, I spotted a Fashionista on her way to class; dressed comfortably yet stylishly, she proved that it doesn’t always take a ton of effort to look adorable.

This Fashionista sported an oversized red and black flannel, thick black leggings, combat boots, a fun hat and a cool lariat. The oversized flannel and combat boots reminded me of a grungy ’90s look, while the necklace and hat both added a modern, stylish twist to the look. It was the perfect wear-to-class outfit. She was comfortable, yet still managed to look edgy.

Perhaps my personal favorite touch on the outfit was the lariat. Up close, I saw that it was made of leather and featured silver charms at the end of each leather strip. The Fashionista was wearing it tight around her neck, which emulated the choker trend that’s taking over Penn State at the moment.

Take notes from this stylish student. There are tons of twists that can be made to this outfit, while still keeping it classroom friendly.

One Simple Change: The nice thing about this look is that it’s incredibly easy to take from day to night. Throw on a pair of faux leather leggings and swap out the playful pom-pom hat for a simple black beanie, and you’re ready for anything from a concert to a casual night out with some friends.
