As we start this semester off fresh, being warm is still a priority on our list along with grades and projects. As for Wisconsinites, our lovely winter weather still blows off cold air and piles up banks of snow. When going to class to start out your day in this cold weather, a scarf can always keep you warm. With spring is popping around the corner, pick a scarf in houndstooth, a popular pattern for both winter and spring.
Houndstooth has been around since the 1800’s and was first used in shepherds’ outerwear in Scotland. The pattern was usually used for outerwear like jackets and coats, but now you can find it on almost anything, from dresses to even shoes.
Going back to school after a long break sure messes with your sleeping patterns, but not with your sense of style. The first thing I noticed was this Fashionista’s houndstooth crewneck sweater. She is wearing a puffer coat, paired with a knitted scarf and cable knit leggings. She also wore combat boots which are still trending now more than ever with new styles from straps and zippers, to studs, and grommets. It’s amazing how this Fashionista pulled off all these elements in her outfit. She’s also wearing a mini cross-body bag and a flap over backpack to help her carry her books and supplies.
When you’re waking up for class or heading out, make sure to stay warm in this single digit weather.
One Simple Change: You can change small things in this outfit to make it ready to for a night out with friends of a dinner date. Switching out the puffer coat for a peacoat and changing the combat boots with a pair of ankle booties would give your outfit a new look.
