WHAT TO WEAR: Class

Fall semester has to be the best time to be on a college campus. The sporting events, the pumpkin spice lattes—it’s all here! I must admit, there is something else I love about fall semester: scoping out the cute and cozy outfits I see in class. Looking put together, staying warm and still being comfortable throughout the school day takes quite a bit of talent. Lucky for me, one of these talented Fashionistas is in my class!

From years of fashion-blog stalking and spending countless hours in retail stores, I have crafted a “Fall Fashion Survival Guide.” The guide includes layers, neutral hues, chunky knits and comfortable footwear—everything you need to look stylish in the unpredictable weather, especially here in Ohio. This Fashionista checked off everything on the list.

She is wearing a solid light grey top underneath an army green button-down and mid-rise dark gray denim jeans with frayed edges rolled up. It’s the perfect foundation for additional accessories. For footwear, this Fashionista chose these adorable, barely-heeled black booties with exposed zipper detailing. These booties are stylish and sophisticated yet practical for those long days on the academic side of campus. Now, the accessories are what pull it together in my opinion. She is wearing a black, chunky knitted infinity scarf: a staple transitional piece for fall. She is also wearing a fabulous pair of thick tortoiseshell sunglasses. In addition to the bigger pieces, this Fashionista finished it off with dainty silver accessories. She is wearing a few simple rings and a silver mesh-band watch.

To take this look from class to date night, swap the booties for a spicy over-the-knee heeled boot and switch the button-down with a sleek leather jacket.
