WHAT TO WEAR: Class

As the California sun is slowly, but surely, becoming less apparent, fashion is following and changing what’s in style as well. The bubble gum pink, cotton candy blue and lemonade yellow color hues that were popular in the summer are starting to fade away with the summer heat. One color that has prevailed time and time again is of course the subtle and striking black.

As seen on multiple collections from the fall 2016 season such as Rodarte or Saint Laurent, the strong yet classic color is eternal. Once a specific trend such as a certain blouse, material or color are strutted down the catwalk, then consider it to create some sort of hype that the masses will surely pick up on.

This Fashionista may not be wearing extravagant pieces like the goth-inspired wardrobe Marc Jacobs had in his fall 2016 collection, but the color is present. Her overall look is perfect for class whether it’s the first day, midterms or finals.

She wears a simple black T-shirt that can never steer you wrong. Next, she pairs the shirt with high-waisted black denim jeans. You can’t forget the shoes: she wore the perfect pair to compliment her overall outfit, Vans Canvas Old Skool.

Just like the adidas superstar sneakers, these Vans have made a comeback and aren’t showing signs of slowing down on one’s social media feeds from Instagram to Twitter.

She finished her look with a camel colored coat to stay warm and stylish. Don’t forget to accessorize to make the outfit pop or just for fun!

Fashionistas know how to turn fashion into a craft, not just a wardrobe. This look, while simple, still commands attention.
