WHAT TO WEAR: Class

During the first few weeks of the semester, everyone has on their best outfits. It’s a new school year, so everyone wants to show off the clothes they bought with the money from their summer jobs. Then after a while, everyone becomes consumed with college assignments, and they resort to athletic wear to save time in the morning. You don’t have to sacrifice fashion for academics. This time you can have your cake and eat it too.

The Fashionista featured above demonstrates how you can pull off an effortlessly chic look for class. Now pay attention: the key to an effortlessly chic outfit is basic pieces mixed with statement pieces. Basic pieces are items everyone should have in their wardrobe. They’re items that you can easily build an outfit around and can transcend from season to season. Use basic pieces to set the foundation for your outfit; then add the wow effect with statement pieces. These should be pieces that are unique and draw attention. Even the smallest detail can take your outfit to a another level. The basics featured in this Fashionista’s look are the black bodysuit with white trim and the white hi-top Vans. Now the bodysuit might not seem like a basic, but they’re in practically every store and on every online fashion boutique. I’ve been seeing more bodysuits than regular tank tops. The statement pieces are the camouflage joggers, choker, quilted bucket bag and faux fox-tail key chain. If you can’t find camouflage joggers, you could always substitute them for another color or style. You could also substitute the black body suit for a black camisole or tank top.

Fashion doesn’t have to be a compromise. You can feel comfortable and still turn heads!
