WHAT TO WEAR: Class

As a freshman here at Penn State, I was warned about the infamous winters of bitter winds and negative degrees. Coming here from Florida, I expected the worst. However, if there’s one thing I could say about this winter at Penn State, it’s that the weather goes from a sunny 75 degree day to a frigid 25 degrees with snow flurries in a matter of 24 hours. How does one even begin to dress for that?

While the normal, harsh winter weather seems to be nonexistent this year, a new norm of extreme weather does seem to be the weather trend. At 10:00 a.m., most girls at Penn State are in puffy parkas and sweats heading to class, but this Fashionista is definitely dressed to impress.

Today’s weather seems to be one of the less arctic winter days, so a parka was a little too much for this weather. This Fashionista found the ideal balance between trendy and comfort for class with her Lauren by Ralph Lauren quilted jacket. Sporting a stylish look with a pair of distressed jeans, UGGs, a pair of sunglasses and a silver necklace. This outfit nailed the trendy winter-style fashion mark. In addition, she’s rocking a pair of earmuffs (interchangeable with a beanie), which is a necessity for the weather! To complete her look, she’s wearing a Michael Kors tote that she uses as a backpack.

One Simple Change: To dress your look up, trade in the quilted jacket for a bomber and switch the UGGs for a classy pair of booties.
