WHAT TO WEAR: Class

Winter is one of those seasons that starts off exciting with the promise of snow and big sweaters, but it’s easy to fall into a fashion slump when the days just get colder and spring seems like a distant day dream. Personally I love winter for all the layering possibilities, but you need to be creative with your wardrobe.

This Fashionista caught my eye with her loose layers and the pop of color in her scarf. Instead of one delightfully oversized sweater, this Fashionista went for light, loose layers and different textures. This Fashionista combats the winter blues by breaking out the tried and true, jeans and cognac brown combat boots combo. She is wearing a long sleeved loose fitted gray shirt which is an essential to any Fashionista’s wardrobe. The possibilities are endless with a long sleeved layering piece. She pairs the shirt with a light, black utility jacket; more a fashionable piece than a functional one.

It is though a nice alternative to the quintessential cardigan sweater and adds a little bit of edge to an otherwise simple and sweet outfit. This Fashionista tops off her outfit with a light floral scarf. The flowers in this scarf are small and multi-colored.  Sometimes wearing floral pieces in the winter can be a fashion misstep. Not with this outfit; the floral scarf is the perfect complimentary piece for her outfit.

This outfit is perfect for class, it’s put together, simple and pretty.  A nice outfit to switch up an everyday leggings and sweater combo. This outfit is also perfect for wearing for brunch followed by an afternoon of shopping.

One Simple Change: To change this outfit for a night out, switch out the combat boots for some heeled booties. The heeled booties are the perfect way to take a daytime outfit to date night.
