It’s that time of year again— school time that is— and while you might not be too excited about those early classes or mundane homework assignments, a new school year can mean a new you. I have those rainy, bloated days where all you want to do is throw on some stretchy leggings and an oversized T-shirt, too. However, if your “I-actually-tried-this-morning” outfit includes workout shorts and a bright colored tee, then this year calls for a fresh new start. That’s right, a new start means ditching the hot pink athletic shorts, leggings and old T-shirts for an outfit that screams instead of yawns.
So, what better place to recharge this fresh image than in class? It’s in the classroom where first impressions will be made and frenemies will deviously ask you about your summer. Dressed to impress, this week’s Fashionista wore a French-inspired black ensemble on her way to class. The Fashionista rocked a black and white striped tee tucked into a pair of Audrey Hepburn cigarette pants. While I love these pieces on her, the silent craftiness of her look is what really caught my eye. A bronze cuff bracelet for a more casual feel, a tribal-inspired silver earring and some brown strappy sandals confidently pull the outfit together. Just the right amount of class for class.
One Simple Change: The Fashionista’s style is so easy to adopt and adjust. For instance, instead of the bronze bracelet, dress this outfit up for a night out with a statement necklace. You can go with bronze, like the Fashionista, or a color, such as deep purple. You could also switch out the brown strapped flats for a heart quenching pair of sea-foam green heels to dress it up. It’s your turn to get creative!
