WHAT TO WEAR: City Street to Class

Before returning back to campus I had a great deal of leisure time at home. I perused through my dance drawer and found an assortment of leotards. As a past studio dancer, I kept all of my dance wear in hopes that I would need it one day for an audition… three years later without a touch, why not put one to use?

This Fashionista uses a black multi-strap leotard as an undershirt. Although simple, leotards are very versatile. With the right styling, they can easily become a part of your daily wardrobe. If you live in a colder climate, like myself, you can certainly put on a jacket and even a hat for pop of color.

She chooses to pair the black leotard with a hunter green kimono. I love this kimono for two reasons: it is a part of the Daya collection, a dope new clothing line by Zendaya Coleman and it references the new trend of wearing silk pajamas outside in the streets. What I admire about the Daya collection is its mission as a brand to increase diversity, confidence and to provide fresh designs for all ages, shapes, and nationalities. The best part is that the designs are affordable!

If you religiously following E! News on social media, I’m sure you have all heard of the silk robe trend. What I love about this trend is the versatility in design and fabric. You can either dress up a robe with a pair of knee-high boots or down with a pair of Adidas Superstars. A silk robe with your favorite pair of boyfriend jeans can make a perfect and comfortable street-chic outfit for class.
