WHAT TO WEAR: Celebration

It’s that time of year again to dust of your festive wear and prepare to celebrate the many holidays and festivals the end of the year holds. And no matter what holidays or festivals you celebrate, looking stylish is a must! However, with the change in temperature and the change in fashion trends, finding a staple outfit for parties and celebrations can be tricky. However, some principal items of the fall and winter seasons are deep, rich jewel tones and lace, so this Fashionista is just the person to inspire your ensemble for the end of the year festivities.

This Fashionista chose a deep berry lace dress from Forever 21 as the main piece of her ensemble. The berry color makes her skin look fair and clashes with her eyes, bringing out the blue. Her choice in makeup highlights the effects of the berry dress: her Clinique Chubby Stick Cheek Colour Balm in Robust Rhubarb and her MAC Cosmetics Cremesheen Lipstick in Tokyo Tizzy further contrasts her eyes and illuminates her face. Enriching your own eye or skin color is a great effect of this outfit and of the trends seen during the later months of the year in general.

After makeup and choice of clothing, this Fashionista focused on accessorizing. First, she knew that these festivities are wrought with standing around with family members, telling old stories and the occasional dance, thus she knew that heels were not meant for these instances. It is fine to dress up during these times, and is usually expected, but you are still just hanging around with the family so when thinking of shoes go for comfort. Pictured here are nude flats made by Dr. Scholls.

And in the realm of jewelry, this Fashionista also went for simplicity. A simple Claddagh ring and a pair of flower shaped earrings match the outfit without drawing too much attention. Lastly, the hair pulled back into a bun allows you to show off a nice pair of earrings and your face.

One Simple Change: If you are even more a fan of lace than shown in this smock styled dress or wish to turn this outfit into a more serious party ensemble, you can easily let out the bun and wear this fit and flare all lace dress from Forever 21.
