WHAT TO WEAR: Celebration

“Summer lovin’ had me a blast. Summer lovin’ happened so fast.” This little tune from Grease has been stuck in my head while I was preparing for this post. Love is certainly in the air during this time of year. It seems like every time I check my Facebook another friend is getting engaged or married! And though I must admit I am slightly jealous of those with a significant other, I’m even more excited about formal fashion and what I’m going to wear for all of these engagement parties, showers and weddings!

This Fashionista was a total beach wedding babe this past weekend, and I will most definitely be trying to recreate this look for myself sometime soon. There are a few things that must be considered when planning for a special summer celebration. In this case, it was an evening wedding in the sand, followed by an outdoor rooftop reception. Sounds dreamy, right? Because of the terrain, neutral wedges were a brilliant idea. Rather than spending the time to take off her shoes or trying to walk in the sand with heels, wearing wedges allowed this Fashionista to stay elevated with ease.

The weather for the wedding was absolutely gorgeous, with barely a cloud in the sky. The only downside to sunny skies though is the possibility of sunburn and inevitable sweating. By keeping her jewelry to a minimum, she did not have to worry about the metal getting too hot or sticking to her. I’m obsessed with this simple upper arm band. By sporting an ultra-feminine mini with scalloped edges and an open back, this Fashionista had no worries about the heat.

One Simple Change: This Fashionista kept her look pretty simple. If you want to take this dress to the next level for a girl’s night out, I would load up on accessories and swap the wedges for some black pumps. Top it off with a little black clutch and you’re ready to party.
