Besides a newspaper, what’s red, black and white allover? This Fashionista who I spotted on the way to class. She aced my favorite look—polka-dots.
Transitioning pieces from summer to fall can often be difficult. Here in Maryland, the mornings are freezing but by the end of the day, it’s sweltering. I personally started the day in a heavy H&M sweater and ended up in a cotton bustier. But take notes from today’s Fashionista. An easy way to transition fall staples, such as jeans and sweaters, is to pair them with sandals. Also, wear fall hues such as red and rust to make your outfit more weather appropriate.
Polka-dots are an easy pattern to pair other pieces with, especially if the polka-dots are in a neutral color, like today’s Fashionista’s black and white bottoms. She paired her black and white polka-dot slacks with a casual red T-shirt and black sandals. She belted her slacks with a red and gold belt, which goes well with her gold earrings and black and gold sandals. If you’re feeling feminine, pair these polka-dot mint ankle pants from Target with a light pink sweater.
This outfit would be perfect for a casual date night because it shows personality without being extremely dressed up. The first date can set the tone for the next date (or a future relationship!) and so it’s important to make sure you feel and look your best. The polka-dot pants also show your girly side without being provocative. If you’re afraid to start the polka-dot trend with such a large piece try this polka-dot shirt, which is currently on sale at Zara. Or, you could even try polka-dot shoes to add a bit of Dalmatian sass to your outfit. One Simple Change:
One Simple Change: I also love today’s Fashionista’s outfit because it could easily be transformed into a nighttime date look. If you switch out the red T-shirt for a button-up and add stilettos, this look could be perfect look for a night out. In a sea full of jeans, stand out with a fabulous pair of pants.
