Picking the outfit for a casual event can often be tricky. Many people have a hard time trying to determine what is considered casual and what is simply too dressy or not appropriate for the occasion. Finding the balance between not too casual and not too formal is key, and this Fashionista seemed to find the happy medium between these two in a trendy, fashionable way.
For a casual date night, this Fashionista sports a lace-trimmed white crop top, a printed maxi skirt and ties it all together with simple Alex and Ani bangles and T-strap sandals. The crop top and maxi dress trend is a personal favorite of mine this season because it can be appropriate for various occasions while still remaining causal and chic. I really like the lace trim at the bottom of this Fashionista’s crop top because it adds details to the otherwise plain top while still not overpowering the pattern of the maxi skirt.
Another thing that I really like about this Fashionista’s outfit is the slit in her skirt. The slit on the side makes the skirt more comfortable and allows everyone to get a peek at her adorable sandals! For those reasons, I would definitely recommend a maxi skirt with a slit as opposed to one without for your next #MaxiSkirtMonday moment.
One Simple Change: In the event that your date night is in a chilly movie theatre or restaurant, it is a good idea to bring along a knit cardigan. This particular cardigan will keep you warm but is still lightweight enough to wear during the summer.
