Getting a job is never easy, and the last thing that you need to worry about at a career fair is whether or not you wore the right thing. Luckily, this Fashionista nailed the perfect look, appearing chic and empowered in her outfit. Appearing professional while maintaining her personal, feminine style, this Fashionista was ready to take on any career fair and shine.
This Fashionista wore a black and white chevron dress. The fun print was an unexpected, conservative and business-appropriate twist on the classic all-black work dress that allowed her fun and bold personality to shine through. To maintain a professional air, she layered a black stretch cotton blazer, like this one from Theory, over the dress. The black blazer transformed her look into one that was slightly more formal and more appropriate for a professional function.
To add a pop of color, this Fashionista added a pink leather belt. It added the perfect hint of color and femininity. The color and placement accentuated her slim figure and ensured that she did not look lost or sloppy in a loose dress.
On the bottom, she wore a pair of patent leather capped ballet flats. The contrast between the patent leather and suede was subtle enough not to make too much of a statement, and the flats ensured she would be comfortable (and functioning) at any career fair.
One Simple Change: Swap out the ballet flats for a pair of pointed, black patent heels, like these from Jimmy Choo, for the perfect day to night look. The black patent is perfect for both the office or a night out, and by simply removing your blazer, you’ll be ready to hit the town!
