WHAT TO WEAR: Brunch

Every single one of my girlfriends loves a good brunch. Whether it is something about the atmosphere, the time of day, the food or the people sitting around you at the table, it always makes for a good time. However, my favorite part of brunch is the excuse to dress up!

Pastels are in fashion, especially for this spring. This pale pink dress looks adorable paired with a pair of nude ankle strap heels. If you don’t like pumps or don’t need the extra height, a dress like this would also be lovely worn with metallic flats.  I love how this Fashionista pulls in gold and rose gold colors in her jewelry. These colors brighten up the outfit so that the pale pink is not lost in the background. Her necklace is a subtle statement, yet draws attention to her fabulously fitting dress. With pastel colors, it is important to complement with jewelry or shoes so that the color does not wash you out. While mono-chromaticism is very cute and trendy right now, I think this look will always remain very classy.  Neutrals and pastels will always go together, and adding jewelry is always more fun right?

One Simple Change: Meeting the parents? You can easily wear this pastel dress under a heavy cream sweater and brown boots and still keep the dressy look. You can also pair it with some colorful tights and flats to add some color. Remember—it is always better to be overdressed than underdressed!
