What to Wear

This week’s CollegeFashionista is from Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. She loves thrifting but at the same time enjoys pricey stores like Urban Outfitters. Her outfits are a mix of clearance items and high-end pieces. Although she has never traveled abroad with her family, she has been to many different countries and gets her primary fashion inspiration from people just walking on the street. Her openness to different styles allows her to combine different patterns and trying different trends. Together let’s see what she wore on her brunch date with her friends!

In this outfit, this Fashionista combines a TJ Maxx cardigan and blouse with five dollar jeans from a new thrift store on Main Street in Stroudsburg. Five dollar jeans, that’s a bargain! Her chic black and gray boots are from DSW. This is a very casual outfit., but she adds a long floral scarf that adds a perfect touch to the outfit. Long scarves are definitely a college girl’s dream accessory. There are numerous ways to wear scarves and they can completely change an outfit. Check out Wendy from Wendy’s Lookbook, Beechbum06 and Evelina from Evelinicutza for chic ways to wear scarves. She also adds sophisticated jewelry, two rings and a bracelet. Adding a few accessories can turn a plain cardigan and jean look to a sophisticated brunch outfit.

This Fashionista’s favorite stores are Forever 21, TJ Maxx, Urban Outfitters and random thrift stores. Although she doesn’t shop at Urban Outfitters very often, she knows how to combine high-end pieces with great finds at local thrift stores.

One Simple Change: Although there is snow on the ground, Misercordia’s weather has been pretty cool. If the temperature drops, adding a royal blue peacoat would add a great contrast to the cardigan and make the flowers pop in the scarf. Check out next week’s Fashionista for more simple changes!
