WHAT TO WEAR: Brunch

There really isn’t anything better than waking up late on a Sunday after a long Saturday night, meeting up with the girls and eating waffles at two in the afternoon. Sunday brunch is like that little reward to yourself that you made it through another long week of classes and work. It’s also never complete without a quick photoshoot or a few selfies for Snapchat showing off the new jacket you bought, all thanks to payday.

The weather in New York hasn’t been too brutal just yet so if you don’t plan on being outside too long, throw on that cargo jacket and race into the restaurant. A heavy knit sweater and tall socks are definitely going to be your best friend. Whether you’re strolling through Bryant Park or spending the day shopping, all you want is to be comfy and cozy. Simple, flat boots are the perfect addition to any shoe wardrobe. Every Fashionista needs at least one pair (although I have about four), to slip on right before running out the door.

Even though you may have your new favorite jacket on or your cutest pair of booties, sometimes an outfit can just feel a little empty.  A statement necklace takes any outfit from just plain to fashionable. Let’s be honest here, sleeping in is great but who doesn’t want to get their day started with a nice plate of warm waffles, orange juice and tons of pictures with your best friends!

One Simple Change: After a great brunch with friends, switch gears and run a few errands with your friends to prepare for the week. Change those flat boots to booties or switch out that statement necklace for an infinity scarf. If it isn’t too cold out maybe you can even ditch the jeans and zip up a suede mini skirt to add a little bit of color and texture to your outfit. Be adventurous and stay inspired, Fashionistas!
