The weather has finally come around, which means Northwestern students are officially out of hibernation. Spring is prime time for lunch dates, picnics and brunch. Any excuse that one could find to eat during lunchtime is used in honor of the warmer days that are sure to come. Naturally, us Fashionistas are pouring over our spring gear that has been waiting for tag removal. We are all ready to go out and put our best outfit forward.
This Fashionista shows us a classy look for brunch. Her outfit is well put together and polished but is full of comfortable and practical pieces for the on-the-go college girl.
I’d like to begin with the scarf. The color is beautiful, yet camel is often passed up because it’s neutral, but the soft brown brightens up the darker tone of the outfit. Spring is usually all about color, but a new challenge for this spring is using those colors that most people ignore or shy away from.
The jacket is definitely my favorite part of the outfit. The tweed-esque look reminds me of Chanel, which essentially means perfect for a lady out for a classy day. It instantly dresses up the denim shirt and basic black pants.
I’ve always stuck to the idea that shoes can make or break an outfit. These loafers are the perfect choice! Studded loafers have been on the rise. Simultaneous glam and comfort is often striven for and hardly achieved, but loafers are that highly coveted rarity.
The carryall bag is essential for any girl’s wardrobe! Brown or black leather makes it versatile, the size keeps everything you need and the bag tops off the outfit.
One Simple Change: Change out the jacket, scarf and denim shirt with a colored peplum top for cute weekend wear.
